Joining the Church

Interested in discovering more about the faith, mission and people of First Presbyterian Church? Attend Discover First! an introductory program designed as a relaxed and comfortable setting to learn more about the joys of following Christ and of being a member of First Presbyterian where we worship the Lord regularly, grow intentionally, and serve generously.

At Discover First! you will learn more about the mission and defining values of First Presbyterian Church. You will get to know others who are new to the congregation, meet staff and members, learn ways to get involved, and realize how important you are to the church.

Attendance at Discover First! does not obligate you to join but it does prepare you to become a member should you choose to join.

Upcoming Discover First! classes

Join us Sunday, July 13, noon–3 p.m. at the church, and Sunday, July 20, when new members will be recognized.

In preparation for the class, please reflect and respond to the following questions and return to the church by Sunday, July 6, care of the Rev. 1) What does it mean to you to declare Jesus Christ for your Lord and Savior? (In other words, How do you understand the terms “Lord” and “Savior”)

2) How have you experienced God’s gracious mercy in your life? In addition, what does it mean to you to turn from sin and renounce evil and its power in the world?

3) What does it mean to you to be a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ?

4) How will you/would you like to share in the worship and ministry at First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio?
