Jim Capps
Our Interim Senior Pastor is a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, Indiana Central College, Indianapolis and the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He has done doctoral studies at LPTS as well as Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California. In more than 40 years of ministry, Jim served as a youth director of a church in Indianapolis while attending college and his first year of seminary before becoming the student pastor of a small church in Southern Indiana his last two years of seminary. He served as an assistant, associate, and co-pastor of the First Untied Presbyterian Church, Belleville, Illinois before serving as the Senior Pastor of the Bonhomme Presbyterian Church, Chesterfield, Missouri and the Southport Presbyterian Church, Indianapolis. Elected to the first national Board of Directors of Presbyterians for Renewal, Jim served as both vice-president and president during those early years. Jim has served on the Board of Kairos Prison Ministry International and was a spiritual director on two Kairos events in Maghaberry Prison just outside of Belfast, Northern Ireland. He has served as a spiritual director on approximately 80 “Cursillio” type weekends. Jim has helped give leadership to 13 building campaigns in the churches he has served.

Scott Simpson
The Rev. Scott Simpson is Associate Pastor for Congregational Care. His ministry focuses on caring and nurturing for the congregation at large, providing Christian guidance and support and overseeing the church deacons and their ministry to those who are sick, in need, friendless or in distress.

George Sturch
The Rev. George Sturch is Congregational Associate for Congregational Care. He provides pastoral care to at-home members of the church, conducts worship services and Bible studies for residents at nursing homes, and provides pastoral care to hospital patients. George has served at First Presbyterian since 1995.

John Seiders
The Rev. John Seiders is our Executive Associate Pastor. Originally from New Jersey, he has served in various capacities in churches in New Jersey, New York, Wisconsin, and most recently, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. In addition, he has served in various leadership roles ministering to college students and staff members of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA. He graduated from Rutgers University and from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

Ruthie Seiders
Ruthie Seiders is the Pastor for Family and Student Ministry. She oversees the staff and programs that serve our families, our children, our youth and university-age students. Whether on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights, on mission trips or all-church retreats, leading worship or teaching a class, she will be found having fun with children, encouraging parents, hanging out with youth, developing leaders, while building relationships across all the ages.
