Within the larger church community that is First Presbyterian Church, FPC University Ministries is dedicated to building bridges into students’ lives that will enable them to glorify God during and beyond their college experience. Our desire is that their foundation of faith established today will stand firm tomorrow.

Core Groups

While we believe these bridges are timeless, they must be perpetually renovated and reinforced. The primary way we do this is through core groups. We use the congregation of FPC as our source of leadership; putting college students in discipleship relationships with older members, with each other, and ultimately with Jesus as they go out into the world.

Campus Ministries

First Presbyterian’s campus ministries provides worship and educational opportunities for college-age (18–23) people committed to investigating the claims of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Groups meet weekly at University of the Incarnate Word, Trinity University, and St. Mary’s University to seek God through the Bible and passionate worship focused on Jesus Christ. Other ministry activities include retreats, mission trips, core groups and mentoring relationships.

We meet on campus during the school year and at First Presbyterian in the summer.
