Global Missions

Jesus said, “Go into all the world and make disciples of all people.” (Matthew 28:19)

First Presbyterian Church sends its members on mission trips to be witnesses of Jesus, to serve according to his example, to extend God’s compassion to the needy, and to love others in his name. We invite you to join us in reaching out to our brothers and sisters in other parts of the world. In doing so, you will experience the vastness of Christ’s church and build relationships you will never forget.

2009 Mission Trips

Acuna, Mexico      December 19, 2009

We will be taking our Christmas trip across the border to work with our friends in Acuna at Fuente de Vida.  We will share in the joy of the season by participating in a Christmas party for the children in the community.  We will play games, sing songs, and make fun memories, so please join us!

If you would like to go or want more information, please contact Alyssa Payne at alyssap@fpcsat.org or call 210.226.0215.

Alternative Gift Market: November 29 & December 6, 13, and 20

The Alternative Gift Market is a perfect way to get into the real spirit of the Christmas season and to find gifts that not only honor special people on your gift list but also help people in the world who aren't on anyone's gift list!

If you would you like to find a meaningful gift for someone who has everything, if you are looking for a way to experience more of the real spirit of Christmas, or if you would like to honor someone in a unique way, then the Alternative Gift Market is the perfect resource!  Visitors to the market donate to the project or projects of their choice; and receive a card to present to the person in whose name the donation was made. Gifts range from donating clothes, shoes, and school supplies to a displaced child in the Sudan, to providing a bed for a homeless person for a night.  There are more than 20 options, both local and global, to contribute towards, and each gift makes a significant impact in someone’s life. The Alternative Gift Market provides much appreciated resources to those most desperate for help, and offers you a chance to bless the lives of your friends and family by blessing the lives of those most in need!
