Jesus said, “Go into all the world and make disciples of all people.” (Matthew 28:19)
First Presbyterian Church sends its people on mission trips to be witnesses of Jesus, to extend compassion to the needy, and to love others in his name.
We invite you to join us in reaching out to our brothers and sisters around the world. In doing so, you will experience the enormity of God's love, the vastness of Christ’s church, and your own profound ability to serve others as Jesus did!
2012 MISSION TRIPS
Medical Mission Trip - San Cosme, Mexico - TBD
This trip is so much more than a medical clinic! While down in the Yucatan the team will work with Yucatan Peninsula Missions, an organization supported by FPC that ministers to the people in the Yucatan year round. The medical mission team will set up a clinic to see patients, administer medicines and vitamins as well as do regular check ups to patients that may not have access to medical care. The team will also have an opportunity to minister spiritually to those who are coming in for physical help. Partnering with the local church, the team will have the opportunity to participate in bible studies, lead a VBS, and plan recreational activities for the children who are waiting. Medical professionals are certainly needed, but there are also many other jobs to do, so we welcome anyone willing to serve!
Vietnam - Spring 2012
Next Spring FPC will be taking a trip with Vets with a Mission (VWAM) to the country of Vietnam. We will be offering help in a medical clinic and ministering to the local people. This trip will be led by Jess Mayfield, who went with VWAM to Vietnam in 2009. This trip is open to anyone, but is especially meaningful to people that served in the Vietnam War, as it allows you to see the country and experience God in a powerful new way.
LaMesta, Dominican Republic - Summer 2012
This summer, we'll continue our partnership with Food for the Hungry on several Christian community development projects in the small village of La Meseta. It is important to note that our official partnership with this small village will be ending in 2013, as our visits and work in this community have the purpose of helping them to become self-sustaining. The summer trip of 2011 will be one of the last few trips that FPC will be making to this village in the Dominican Republic, so please take advantage of this amazing opportunity to serve our wonderful friends there!
